Spider In The Corner.
Random May 21st, 2002Last night before I went to bed as I was brushing my teeth, I noticed a larger-than-normal spider just “hanging” around in the corner of my bathroom, about halfway up the wall. I didn’t think too much about him (or her) and just went about my business. I went to bed, not giving him much more thought… except that one about him being in the shower with me in the morning, but it didn’t really give me nightmares.
For issues of simplicity, let’s call this spider Horace. I looked for him in the shower this morning; no Horace. He wasn’t in his spot that he was in last night, either: he was instead about three feet higher.
A myriad of questions ran through my head. Why do spiders seem to only move at night? What’s the significance of being three feet higher? Do spiders contemplate life when they are sitting still? Do they think at all? Are they sleeping?
Anyone who can give me valid answers will win my utmost respect.

How do you know that the spider only moved three feet? Isn’t it possible that left and came back to the same place?

Maybe he was downtrodden and dejected after seeing the Spiderman movie and realizing he just didn’t match up. Do spiders have bad days?

I seriously doubt that it was a spider. They typically shun bathrooms. Perhaps what you may have sighted is a saber-toothed crotch cricket. They are notorious for hanging out in restrooms seeking their next victim…

I wonder if the one that I found in the shower this morning was related to the one you found in your shower…:)
