Fixation Refresh.

Life, Website 1 comment »

I thought it was time for a little visual refresh of the site.  Check it out–all of the comments and entries from the past six years should be hanging around.  I changed up the blogging engine to be something more upgradeable than my custom one, and since we’re hosting pictures offsite, this site is mostly of the blogging variety (although you could see some other custom creations here in the future).  In the meantime, enjoy your stay and look forward to a couple new entries!

Switching Webhosts, All.

To our visitors –

We’re going to switching webhosts here within the next couple of days. Note that we might be down for a few days after that while we get domain transfer done and move the site over. Unfortunately, this will also impact our email; so, if you have something to say, you can always reach me at my work email (you can find it on that site).

Thanks for your patience!

Mark & Renée

UPDATE The switch was successful! Email and website is back up and running. Score, baby.

Check Back Here On Sunday.

Just visit the website—this Sunday, October 12, 2003.

Busy, Busy, Busy!

Website, Work No comments »

Man, life has been incredibly busy lately. I don’t have time to upload those pictures yet. Work hasn’t given me a moment to think, because we just got a new president and I’m trying to make things work all around the office (Ed.: four people came to see me during my lunch hour alone yesterday. That’s out of a company that’s only 11 employees large!).

Now, I must return. But yes, things are going! Happy Maundy Thursday (I think).

Dang It.

I just spent like 30 minutes updating this, and then I accidentally reloaded the window and lost it all.

The New Do… Again.

Whereas I don’t really have a new haircut (but I do need one), this is simply to reference the fact that my first domain is finally alive and kicking. Welcome to Joy Fixation, Renée’s and my personal website. Enjoy your stay around here. Look for lots and lots of new pictures (and more coming very soon, as soon as I get my digital camera back) and more special features as the year progresses. You’ll find most everything organized in a similar fashion to mr3).

We’re already ten days into the new year and I’ve broken every New Year’s resolution that I made (which was only one). Oh well. I think that New Year’s resolutions exist just for the sole purpose of not keeping them, kind of like how hiccup cures exist for the sole pleasure of the person watching the hiccupper take their “medicine.” Life is grand, no?

So much (and then again, not so much) has been going on around these parts. A whole team of peeps went up to Denver for Christmas Conference, and this is the first year in four that I and Renée (two years for her) have not trekked up there together. It was weird to have lunch with Scott yesterday and hear about Christmas Conference, without any understanding of what actually happened, like I’ve had in years past. But I’ve been out of CRU for over a year now, so I’m adjusting to other things, I guess.

This is the end of my first week of work for the New Year, and it has been one of the longest. I guess after being spoiled with so much time off, it’s hard to get back into the groove. Things are going well though, as my database project nears version 1 and other cool technological wonders occur throughout the company. Unfortunately, I have to spend the weekend here (at least one day) to get things done.

But, Renée and I are going to see a wonderful movie tomorrow at the dollah-theatah: Jonah, a Veggietales Movie. Woohoo!

My First Real Attempt At Flash.

It took me forever, and it’s really really short, but let me know what you think.

A Startling Statistic.

Did you know that out of 300+ comments that have been posted on mr3 since January, over 50% (over 150!!) have had absolutely nothing to do with the actual posted content? For some reason, people take the commenting system to be a place to freely exchange their own, personal feelings about the webmaster, his website, and various and sundry other topics that relate in no way to what actually comprises this website. Sad. We’re gonna have to work on this one, people. Furthermore, of that 50%, 50% stem from one certain

Ren and I blessed one very special friend of ours this weekend. Laquie had her 23rd birthday this weekend, and it was celebrated with a tiara, a nice neon-pink boa, redneck teeth, and friends at Flying Star. Pictures coming soon.

Speaking of pictures, see some honeymoon photos.
